Texas Hill Country Toro Canyon: This Texas Hill County style home, with all it’s charm, fits right into its setting. Situated on a large parcel of land covered with wild native flowers, it seems to have been there forever. The owners wanted their home to be indicative of the typical style of homes in the Fredericksburg, Texas area. These German style homes were built 200 years ago as immigrants moved into central Texas and found the area all around Fredericksburg to be much like Germany, (home). The native Austin stone outside and large wooden windows followed the style. Metal roofs were used by many hill country homes. Entering the home through custom made 10’ tall heart of pine front doors, you immediately feel welcome. The 12’ towering ceiling and wide-open spaces lend themselves to the open space in Texas. With large open windows everywhere, its no problem feeling that you are in nature as you gaze out the windows across the native flowered lot. | | |
